The so-called "Kremlin Cathedral" in Zvenigorod, with its simple architecture, was built in 1396-1399. Its architecture resembles that of St. Dimitri of Vladimir: a simple cube (with three apses) topped by a simple helmet-shaped dome. Built of local white stone, it later lost some of its exterior decoration, notably the circular arches that complete the walls. The frescoes and paintings inside have not been well preserved.
