This first brick church was built on order by Metropolitan Ionas Ionas in 1670, above the old entrance which gave access to the residence of metropolitan and the place of residence of princes. Its very high the, remarkably restored, is decorated with sculptures. The very slender building is crowned with a delicate wooden roof with slopes in "zakomary" surmounted by arcades and colonnades. The five domes are in aspen, as it is tradition for wooden churches and the roof of the watch towers. It is also in Metropolitan Ionas that the church must the two towers that frame the door. In a niche, decorated with beautiful tiles, a painting representing the feast of the Resurrection gives its name to the Church. Inside, there is another representation of the Resurrection, left of the iconostasis, on the side wall. This is the most important of the church. These frescoes were executed in one summer by different painters. The fairly classical iconostasis is in stone, preceded by two pillars; it should be noted that it is more raised than in an ordinary church: Ionas approved the ideas of the Nikon hégoumène, which preached the superiority of the Church on the state and its power, and that is what these four additional steps symbolize, which enhance the platform in metropolitan France. Nikon's hégoumène (игумен) is equivalent to a Catholic abbot.

On each side of the entrance, you will notice round holes that are designed to improve the acoustics. The marks of nail that can be seen on the walls bear witness to the pictorial technique used: it is these nails that hold the first layer of the plaster on which they paint go fresca. The metal of the nail ending with rust, it leaves its trace in the wall. On the left side, you can reach an open gallery which allows, above the west wall, to see Nero Lake.

A small staircase leads to the West Gallery, which contains a series of photographs from the late th century presenting the then Kremlin and its churches. After the photo panels, a number of paintings were discovered by the artists of Kostroma, Laroslavl and Moscow representing the Last Judgement. From the gallery, you get to the church through a steep staircase. Left of the church, above the wall, is a small bell bell with twelve bells.
