ISAAC LEVITAN MUSEUM
Installed in the house where the artist stayed for three summers, this museum is dedicated to the works and life of Levitan. Born in Lithuania, he had kept from his early years a lasting taste for hunting. After his arrival in Plios one day in June 1888, he was seduced by the forest environment and the hunting possibilities of the surroundings. The works and reproductions on display are very representative of this happy moment in the life of the artist, who composed a pastoral symphony to the glory of Plios in a few well-lit canvases.
