KRKONOŠE NATIONAL PARK
It is not a problem to find tourist information about the park in the main resorts (addresses in each location). At the headquarters you will be informed about accommodation possibilities for example. Hiking maps are also available there. But you can buy them in bookshops in Prague and even ask for (basic) ones at the Czech tourist office in your country. It is better if you want to plan your stages and bivouacs in advance. In any case, you should know that many activities are possible in the park, regardless of the season you plan to stay there.
In summer, you can walk, and in winter, you can ski. That's a summary, but that's pretty much how it goes. Hikers will find many marked paths: easy, steep, running, wild... The most beautiful, but also the most difficult, is probably the red marked path along the Czech-Polish border, which is called the "Cesta Česko-polského přáteství". The less athletic, or those in a hurry, will take in summer the chairlifts used by skiers in winter. They allow you to reach the heights and join beautiful paths. There are also paths specially designed for mountain biking.Where to go? Skiers will head to Harrachov, Rokytnice Nad Jizerou, Špindleruv Mlýn, Pec Pod Sněžkou or Janské Lázně. The latter resort is also a spa town. In summer, hikers will prefer Špindleruv Mlýn and Pec Pod Sněžkou.
