STACHELBERG BUNKER
Fortifications – Ramparts

Near Babi, north of Trutnov, is the largest remnant of the fortifications built by the Czech army to face the Germans in the old days of the Second World War. It was built in 1937-1938 and is a large artillery bunker called tvrz Stachelberg. The Czech Museum of Fortifications has been set up there (for enthusiasts only). Beware of claustrophobia, a large part of the visit takes place underground, after a long descent by stairs. In the open air, you can also walk through some trenches.
