This fortress perched on a rock was built by the Czech king Jean de Luxembourg in 1316, to watch over and protect the river and its fords. It passed through the hands of many families of the region, according to the successes and defeats. In the 16th century, it was transformed into a gothic castle. But it is at the beginning of the 19th century that it acquired this simple but romantic silhouette which, it is said, was admired by Goethe and Wagner themselves. And perhaps soon by you.
