FRÝDLANT CASTLE (ZÁMEK)

This castle was transformed into an elegant residential castle from 1558 to 1621. Nevertheless, the fortifications remain: bastions, moats, walls. The whole complex is enthroned on a hill above the valley. A simply spectacular place, whose valiant structure would have even inspired Kafka for his famous novel The Castle. Inside, the central courtyard, which is surrounded by beautiful facades and various towers, is a real little panorama of the architectural styles in vogue in the 17th century
