Opera house – Theatre

Built in neo-Renaissance style according to a design by Fellner and Helmer, it is famous for its Viennese decorations (Klimt is said to have painted the stage curtain). Closed for many years for renovation, it reopened its doors in 2007 and now shows plays, concerts and musicals. Consult the program at the tourist office. Unfortunately most of the performances are in Czech or Russian. For polyglots, therefore.
