MOSER GLASSWORKS (SKLÁŘSKÁ SKLÁŘSKÁ MOSER)
Moser glassworks originated in Karlovy Vary. The factory in Dvory, founded by Louis Moser in 1892, quickly became world famous and the royal orders that poured in explain its name of "royal glassworks". This institution of Bohemian crystal is worth visiting anyway for the beauty of the glass, even without the desire to buy. A new museographic space proposes, before the visit, a documentary of about twenty minutes on the history of the glass factory. The visitor then wanders among dozens of original glass creations, often collector's items. A beautiful showroom where shapes, sizes, styles and colors alternate according to the eras and trends followed by the creators of the house. The highlight of the visit is of course the glass factory (ticket combined with the museum), where you can see the master glassmakers and glassblowers working in the stifling heat of the furnaces: the sand must be heated to over 1,300°C to obtain the paste that will become glass. This is a great way to learn about the process while enjoying one of the last workshops of this size that still works in a completely traditional way. A wonderful visit and highly recommended. At the end of the visit, the store will allow you to bring back delicate souvenirs and to add a touch of class to your dishes or your interior decoration. The prices are not higher than elsewhere, but are not accessible to all.
