It is the only theater to have been built in the Czech Republic since... 1989! It is worth a visit for that reason alone. The architecture that earned it its nickname of "Swiss cheese" consists of a large gray facade pierced with irregular holes in the manner of emmenthal. Surprising by day and of the most beautiful effect at night! It was inaugurated in 2014, just before Pilsen was the European Capital of Culture. A variety of performances are given here, as the theater was designed to host dramatic plays but also opera or ballet.
