Situated on the banks of the Otava River, between the castles on the Vltava and the first hills of the Šumava, this building was built by the Bavor family in the early 13th century and has since been transformed according to architectural fashions. It is distinguished by its beautiful dark stone Rumpál tower, which contrasts with the pretty white house and St. Prokop's church that flank it. The castle houses a museum showcasing local traditions and folklore, with a fine collection of bagpipes.
