The Jan Hus Center is a museum dedicated to this scholar and religious reformer of the 14th and 15th centuries, who became a national symbol. A public holiday still commemorates his burning at the stake on July 6, 1415, following his excommunication in 1411. His death was the trigger for the creation of the Hussite Church and the murderous crusades that followed. In the center, one can visit his birth house, an exhibition dedicated to his life and work and the Husinec region.
