ŽIŽKOVO NÁMĚSTÍ
The square is named after the Hussite leader who terrorized the country. His statue, sculpted by Josef Strachovský, has stood in the center of the square since 1884, not far from the 1567 fountain. In the center of the square, there are two stone tables that were probably used for Hussite ceremonies. Beautiful houses are lined up around the square. There is also an entrance to the famous Tábor underground (Podzemní Chodby - same hours as the museum), a labyrinth of corridors connecting old cellars. It was used as a place of refuge during battles and for storing foodstuffs.
