VRANOV NAD DYJÍ CASTLE (ZÁMEK)
An essential part of the region. Amidst hills covered by a dark forest overlooking the river, this majestic castle is one of the most beautiful in the country. The watchtower tower (which only remains the beautiful stone tower) and baroque castle when, in 1680, the Althan family entrusts it to the care of the architect Fischer von Erlach. Inside, the most beautiful success is the oval room of the ancestors (Sál Předku): dazzling colours and perfect harmony of paintings, sculptures and architecture. Among the luxurious apartments, note those used by a Masonic lodge or those frequented by Princess Maria-Anna Pignatelli. All ceramics was made especially by craftsmen from the village in the th century. The chapel of the Holy Trinity of the castle, also designed by Erlach.
