SYNAGOGUE (SYNAGOGA)
The foundations of the present synagogue are those of an older building and date from the 16th century, but the synagogue was rebuilt to its present baroque appearance after a fire in 1719. Opened to the public in 1990, the Jewish community had become almost anecdotal in the region. There is an exhibition dedicated to the legendary Rabbi Löw, associated in Prague with the Golem, which he is said to have created to protect the Jewish community in the capital. There is also a small area dedicated to Jewish education in Moravia.
