Buchlov Castle was built in the 13th century in the Romanesque style, and in the 16th century it grew in the Renaissance style and was extended from its first fortified wall. In the 17th century, the Turkish threats forced it to be surrounded by a new wall. It currently presents some works of art from the 14th to the 19th century. Another curiosity is the Egyptian mummy from the 3rd century B.C., which is exhibited in the castle and which was a wedding gift from one of the lords of the castle to his sister.
