WALLACHIAN ECOMUSEUM (VALAŠSKÉ MUZEUM V PŘÍRODĚ)
This complex actually gathers several sets of monuments and museums: a kind of small reconstructed village where one can taste the traditions, customs and skills of yesteryear through period pieces, and also study the way they evolved after the Second World War and during the Soviet period. Numerous houses, pubs and churches are reconstructed and provide a glimpse into the recent history of the Moravian countryside and its social ties. Various water and windmills allow you to see some of the handicrafts made. Folk music concerts are also offered. It is a pleasure for both adults and children. Its designation as a national cultural monument is fully justified. The largest is the Wallachian Village (Valašska Dědina). It is set on a beautiful hill and gives a good idea of peasant life: houses, interiors, traditional trades, crops... From January to April, in October and December only the outside is open. In the Mill Valley (Mlýnská Dolina), you will see a beautiful collection of water mills from all eras that are still in operation. Finally, the Wooden Hamlet (Dřevěné Městečko), the only one open almost all year round, features a beautiful wooden church, houses, beehives, and, a major attraction, a traditional hospoda where tourists flock to enjoy local beers and food.
