DUOMO
Romanesque cathedral with three naves and decorated side chapels.
Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Lodi Cathedral - the Duomo - is a Romanesque building whose construction began in 1160 and wasn't finally completed until the 16th century. Its red-brick facade, typical of the Lombard Romanesque style, features a majestic portal decorated with sculptures(Adam and Eve). A beautiful 12th-century porch precedes it, supported by two stylophoric lions. The rose window, windows and campanile are later additions dating back to the 16th century. The three-aisled interior features richly decorated side chapels.
