Sanctuary among the most prestigious monuments of the Lombard Renaissance built by Battagio.
One of the most prestigious monuments of the Lombard Renaissance, this sanctuary stands on the site where tradition has it that Our Lady appeared on several occasions. It has an octagonal plan and includes the cloister and several chapels. Built by Battagio in 1488, the skilful harmony of the proportions clearly shows the influence of Bramante. The interior is equally precious: several artists from Lodi participated in its decoration, among them Piazza and Bergognone, whose four altarpieces of exemplary pictorial mastery are preserved.
