WINDOW WALL
Important system of walls designed at the end of the 15th century in Crema.
The extensive system of walls surrounding Crema's historic center was designed in the late 15th century, when Crema was under the influence of the Venetian Republic. Its layout had a considerable influence on the city's urban planning. Up to 1.30 m thick, remnants of the wall can still be seen from Campo di Marte (where an image of the Virgin Mary can be seen protecting the ramparts), via Magri and via Stazione (1488-1509). A stroll around these streets is a pleasant experience. A number of cafés are located here during the summer months.
