LOGGIA DEI MILITI
Important testimony of Lombard civil architecture in Gothic style in Cremona.
Erected in 1292, the lodge takes its name from the fact that the captains of the militia, members of the most illustrious families of the city, used to meet here. It is an important testimony of Lombard civil architecture in Gothic style, among the oldest in Cremona. Built in red brick, above large pointed arches rise three three-lobed windows. Under the portico is the emblem of Cremona represented by a double simulacrum of Hercules that supports the coat of arms of the city. Legend has it that the Greek god was the founder of Cremona.
