COMMUNAL PALAZZO
Symbol of political power in the Middle Ages, now hosting temporary exhibitions.
In the heart of the city, built in 1206 in the typical Lombard communal style, the palace was enlarged in 1245. Modified again in 1496, the large interior hall, which was used for the town council's meetings, was divided into several areas, including a chapel. A symbol of political power in the Middle Ages, its facade is the result of modifications made in the 19th century. In the Sala dello Scalone, note the beautiful 16th-century carved wooden portal. Today, it hosts temporary exhibitions.
