SINAGOGA
Testimony of the existence of an important Jewish community in the area of Sabbioneta.
Built in 1824 on the site of a previous synagogue, it is a testimony to the existence of an important Jewish community in the area, encouraged by the tolerance of the Duke and present in Sabbioneta from 1436 to 1937. Famous for its extremely fine printing work, which the Duke himself often used, the Jewish community was well tolerated, and Sabbioneta never saw the establishment of a ghetto. The interior retains its original 19th century decoration. Today it belongs to the Jewish community of Mantua.
