Small theater designed by Antonio Bibiena, a masterpiece of rococo architecture in Mantova.
Intended to host both plays and scientific demonstrations, this small theatre is a masterpiece of Italian Rococo architecture (1769), designed by Antonio Bibiena. Four orders of finely decorated wooden boxes frame a fixed stage in faux marble. A marvel where Mozart, then 13 years old, gave a fabulous concert in 14 pieces in 1770. Today the theatre still hosts operas and concerts.
