DUOMO
One of the few examples of an eleventh-century religious building with a central plan in Brescia.
A jewel of Romanesque art, it is one of the rare examples of an 11th-century religious building with a central plan. Built on the remains of an older sanctuary, it preserves inside an interesting cycle of paintings on religious subjects by painters of the Brescia Moretto and Romanino school (16th century) and the remains of ancient mosaics. To the left of the Rotonda rises the more "modern" Duomo Nuovo, whose imposing white marble façade dominates Piazza Paolo VI. Inside there are many paintings of the Brescia School (Moretto and Romanino).
