Don't be fooled by its baretto (little bar) name; in reality it's a restaurant where you can dine in style, but get away with a €25 lunch. And what a meal it is! Baretto's location has earned it a prominent place among Bergamo's favorite restaurants. The terrace is superb, offering a bird's-eye view of the Lower Town as you sample local specialties such as casoncelli with butter and sage and delicious desserts. Wine list with over 250 labels.

Kelner niemiły, czekałam 10 min na menu. Nikt mi nie podał. Bardzo niemiła obsługa, nie polecam tego miejsca

I'd give this place a 6th star if I could. It wasn't cheap, but it had been a while since I left a restaurant as satisfied as I did today.

The pasta specialties of Bergamo are the appeal here, leading with the large "casoncelli" ravioli punctuated by chunks of smoky speck. We enjoyed lunch as a large group and they handled us easily, and we lingered long enough to fill with pasta, wine, and dessert -- leaving enough room for a glass of locally-made amaro. If you come here, please don't forget the bitter at the end of your meal.
