With its fascinating collection of relics, precious objects and archives, the Musée du Trésor du Dôme traces the history of the cathedral from its foundation during the reign of the Lombards (5th century) to the present day. Highlights include the ivory Diptych of Stylicon, some of the liturgical objects belonging to the Lombard queen Theodelinde, including the astonishing Poule aux Poussins, a unique piece of carved silver silverware. The treasure was successively added to by King Berenger (10thcentury ) and the Visconti family.
