Elegant Liberty style establishment in the heart of one of Naples'most elegant districts and a few steps from Piazza Amedeo. Opened since 1878, it is still a city reference. Located on the 4 th and 5 th floors (above the Hotel Ruggero), the rooms are all very well-cared for and tastefully decorated. The breakfast room is very nice.

Hotel molto tranquillo, con camere ben arredate. Ideale per raggiungere qualsiasi posto della città.

this is an 1890's building, converted into professional offices for most floors. The amenities--elevators, plumbing--are modern. The aesthetics--wrought iron beds, new-baroque decoration. prints from 2 centuries ago--are from the early days. The upscale neighborhood is a delight to walk in, and a stone's throw from a metro station that connects to a second intersecting line, and most importantly, to the main train station. If what you want is a cost-engineered conference center of a hotel with big rooms in which to drink and party, you won't be happy here. If you want a retro-neopolitan experience, with your celebrations in the 5 good restaurants 60 feet away, this is your place.

I stayed here for four nights during spring 2023, and I thought it was lovely. The outside of the hotel is not terribly eye-catching, but once you enter the old-world charm exudes warmth and high-end beauty. As others have said, Pinto-Storey Hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the Metro station (the station name is Piazza Amedeo), at one end of a long, slightly high-end shopping street (Via dei Mille; translates as "road of a thousand" but not sure why), with loads of very pleasant restaurants in the surrounding area. This hotel is located in a hilly area which was fun for me because I like walking the terrain when I explore a place, but understandably that is not for everybody, although the simple truth is that most all of Naples is hilly so if mobility issues are a concern then you should think in terms of taxis more than topography. For the walking inclined the trot down to the waterfront was quick and easy, and hiking uphill from the hotel was just as much fun (with beautiful views). Both Via dei Mille and Piazza Amedeo are fairly busy with traffic (both auto and pedestrian), so if you go out on the balcony you’ll hear typical noises of the city; however, once you button up the balcony doors the room is quiet for restful sleep. The front desk hosts were obviously hired for their excellent people skills, and needless to say not every business is as attentive when it comes to hiring quality staff, so the owner of this hotel gets significant credit for showing he knows how to take care of his guests. Their English skills were not on par with, say, those you'll find in a Dutch hotel, but they certainly knew far more English than I knew Italian, so I was delighted with all the help they managed to communicate. Compared to some places I've stayed in Europe the room here was spacious and afforded excellent views from the balcony. Admittedly, I purposely paid for more square footage and a quality view since I felt that was better for a four-night stay, thus others' experiences may be different than mine. The bathroom was updated to modern standards which very much added to my appreciation, and that compares (sometimes drastically) to other old "charming" hotels I've stayed in which failed to invest in updated facilities. Just a couple blocks downhill on Via dei Mille is the Leopoldo Cafebar which was fantastic for both breakfast treats and delicious Italian coffee. If you want to buy a metro pass for one day or more then there is a place called Bar Metro, located literally at the front of the entrance tunnel to Piazza Amedeo station, which sells them. Bar Metro, and the Piazza Amedeo station for that matter, are only a football field (300 feet) from the front door of Pinto-Storey Hotel. I'll sum this up by saying that I was very fortunate to have selected Pinto-Storey Hotel as my chosen place to stay in Naples. Sometimes picking a hotel via the internet can be a real coin toss, but luck was with me when I selected Pinto-Storey. It made all the difference such that I came away from Naples and its environs feeling I had enjoyed one of the most pleasantly memorable places I’ve ever been in my life. Would I choose to stay in this hotel again? Oh my yes, absolutely.
