TEATRO SAN CARLO
Lovers of operas and shows will not miss a performance in this mythical lyric theatre.
One of the oldest lyric theatres in Europe and certainly one of the most prestigious in the world. Inaugurated in 1737 at the instigation of Charles de Bourbon, it has hosted the greatest operas and had, for a time, Gioacchino Rossini as its musical director. Note the neoclassical façade and, inside, the six levels of loggias enriched with stuccoes and gilded bas-reliefs. Numerous shows are programmed there throughout the year. The program is eclectic: dance, operas, concerts... Guided tours of the theater are organized during the day.
