The Ospedale San Paolo is located in the Fuorigrotta district of Naples, via Terracina 219. Inaugurated in 1972, it has since been brought up to current standards without undergoing major structural modifications. In 2005, a central operating complex of over a thousand square metres was inaugurated, with four operating theatres dedicated to emergency and elective care. In 2008, the emergency department introduced "Triage", a system for coding intervention priorities. The hospital offers regular inpatient, day hospital and outpatient surgical care through its operational units, which also provide specialized outpatient health services. In 2011, the hospital welcomed the urology and ophthalmology operating units from the CTO hospital. San Paolo Hospital also has a listening and assistance desk for victims of violence, as well as an assistance pathway. Finally, the hospital has an agreement with Federico II University for the training of residents. In 2019, the cardiology department was inaugurated and the coronary intensive care unit (UTIC) is due to be set up.
