CHIESA DI SANTA MARIA INCORONATA
Church with two naves where you can admire the frescoes decorating its vaults and walls.
This church, located three metres below street level, was built in the 14th century by Queen Jeanne I of Anjou to commemorate the coronation of her second husband Louis of Taranto (Jeanne I was widowed four times!). The interior is articulated around two naves. The visit is especially noteworthy for the frescoes decorating the vaults and walls: they were painted by Roberto d'Oderisio (influenced by Giotto), between 1352 and 1354, and by an anonymous 15th century artist.
