FLORIDIANA VILLA
Residence containing a collection of decorative art and a collection of oriental art
Splendid residence of King Ferdinand I who, in 1814, married the Duchess Floridia in a second marriage. The latter, not having the title of queen, could not live in the royal palace of the Bourbons. Out of respect for propriety, the king bought her a piece of land and had a villa built for her... In the heart of a beautiful terraced park overlooking the Gulf of Naples, the main neoclassical building is reminiscent of the opulence of the villas of Pompeii. It also houses a rich collection of decorative arts and also a collection of oriental art (China and Japan).
