PALAZZO DELL'UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI FEDERICO II
Palace with library and museum of anthropology in one of the oldest universities in Europe
Founded in 1224 by Emperor Frederick II, it is one of the oldest universities in Europe with the Sorbonne, Bologna and Salamanca. It is possible to enter but it is for its majestic neo-baroque façade (1897-1908) that it is admired, in particular its portal enriched with Doric columns and its central tympanum decorated with a bronze high relief showing Frederick II between the Doctors. With a church and a convent, the palace includes a library and a museum of anthropology.
