TEATRO BELLINI
Theater where Bellini gave his first concert, the fresco of the vault pays tribute to him
Inaugurated in 1864, according to the plans of architect Carlo Sorgente, the theatre will be devastated by flames five years later. Once restored, in 1878, Bellini will give the first concert. Note the exterior of the building spread over three levels, with a facade adorned with busts of Neapolitan musicians (Scarlatti, Pergolèse or Bellini). See also the numerous stuccoes depicting dancers and musicians. The interior with its horseshoe form houses the superimposed boxes on five levels. The fresco of the voûte, the Triumph of Music, pays tribute to Bellini.
