PARCO VIRGILIANO
Terraced park overlooking the sea with a panoramic view of the Bay of Naples.
Located not far from the island of Nisida, at the end of the Gulf of Naples, on the tip of the Coroglio promontory. Created in 1930 and redeveloped in the early 2000s after a period of abandonment, this terraced park of about 92,000 m² overlooks the sea at an altitude of 150 m, offering magnificent panoramas over the Bay of Naples. It was named in memory of the Latin poet Virgilio, but should not be confused with the Parco Vergiliano di Piedigrotta, also known as the Park of Virgil's Tomb, because a tradition places his burial place there.
