VULCANO SOLFATARA
Still active volcano where to observe the crater composed of clay and silica
A still active volcano, whose fumaroles (from 105 to 160 °C) and other seismic vibrations still attest to its activity. The visit of this natural site is quite impressive. See the crater essentially made of clay and silica, whose faults release vapors from the subsoil. Very strong smell of sulfur guaranteed. As for minerals, connoisseurs will recognize a number of pyrites and opals. Following a fatal accident in 2017, the site is unfortunately still closed pending its safety.
