OASI NATURALISTICA DI MONTE NUOVO
Nature reserve made up of a volcanic cone rich in vegetation with a view of the surroundings
On the night of 29 September 1538, a volcanic eruption caused the disappearance of the village of Tripergole and almost completely destroyed Pozzuoli. Eight days of explosive activity were enough to form this new relief, Monte Nuovo, a volcanic cone 130 m high. Declared a nature reserve in 1996, its landscape today boasts a rich and diverse vegetation, with some beautiful views of the surroundings, from Posillipo to Cape Misene.
