Arch over the Via Domitiana, an ancient Roman road linking Naples and Pozzuoli to Cumae
If you drive from Pozzuoli to the archaeological park of Cumae, you will pass under this arch, built under Domitian (end of the first century AD) and about twenty metres high. It spanned the ancient Via Domitiana, a Roman road that connected Naples and Pozzuoli to Cumae and was connected to the Via Appia that led to Rome. The Arco Felice marked the entrance to Cumae and also facilitated traffic on the crest of Mount Grillo. According to a legend, whoever kisses his loved one while passing under the arch will be happy all his life. Let's hear it...
