FORUM
Square containing the basilica, buildings of the municipal administration, temples and the market.
As the centre of the city's political, social, economic and religious life, the forum of Pompeii is one of the best architectural illustrations of its kind in the Roman world. Located at the crossroads of the main axes of the urban core, it includes the basilica where justice was administered, the buildings of the municipal administration (curia, comitium), several temples including that of Jupiter, and the market(macellum). This square, more than 400 m long, was surrounded by a portico with two levels of columns, and it was entirely paved.

An archaeological marvel!
It is opposite thrill and that you walk while discovering the remains of the buried city.
Even if the marble forum were removed, it is pleasant to try to imagine the centre of political life and public a town of campanie in the 1st century ad... admiring the visu and not in a book.
