Archaeological park representing the daily life of Pompeii with remains of houses following the eruption of Vesuvius

On October 24, 79, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried Pompeii, a town of 15,000 inhabitants, under ash, volcanic dust and pumice. However, this catastrophe enabled future generations to discover a site that preserves, like a snapshot, the customs of the Pompeians. The remains of richly decorated houses offer a glimpse into the daily life of the Pompeians. For example, you can admire the superb mosaics of the houses of the Boars, Poquius Proculus and the Tragic Poet. The sites to visit are detailed separately.

Site très vaste.
Certaines maisons sont fermées.
Beaucoup plus de monde qu'à Herculanum.
La durée de la visite est un peu trop longue pour des jeunes enfants.

Pompeii! what a marvel for archaeologists, guides and others passionate of history! Do not forget that we talk about an old town, it is huge! we spent 5 hours there, allow at least 3 hours for good to enjoy it! Trick: the famous villa of the Mysteries is quite remote compared to the rest, and close to an exit. Bring sandwiches because the food is unaffordable

Une merveille ! une ville qui est comme figée dans le temps . C'est une visite à faire sans hésiter . la visite est interminable tellement la ville est grande et tellement il y a de choses a voir . malgré quelques batiments qui tombent en ruinent la magie est toujours là. Se munir d'une bouteille d'eau et aussi de bonne chaussures car vous marcherez sur de gros pavés.

Suberbe site, néanmoins je conseillerais de se munir d"une bonne bouteille d'eau, chapeau et protection solaire. Par temps ensoleillé, il fait très très chaud. Eviter également la maison libertine, beaucoup de groupe s'y dirige et c'est une ruelle étroite, vous passerez du temps à attendre pour 2 ou 3 peinture libertines sur un mur.
