At the end of the boat, if you are caught by a big snack, no hesitation: The best restaurant in Marina Piccola is the one of the White sailing. Captain Luigi Gargiulo negotiates the fresh fish with his friends directly to the harbour every day. The pesce fresco is served in the evening and evening at the table of this rustic and convivial restaurant. The evening room recalls a little inside an old galion. The other, opened in light by a large glass window, displays photos of a film filmed at Marina Piccola, with the splendid Sophia Loren. The grills of the Vela Bianca are worth a visit, and a good choice of wines from the region.

We had a large set of courses but the standouts were definitely the gnocchi and roast beef. We helped make some of the gnocchi (the staff claims it was all us, but I have my doubts), and the gnocchi had a perfect ratio of potato and flour so that it still tasted mostly of potato with a soft, melt in your mouth texture. The tomato sauce was perfect as well, slight texture and just light enough with a deep flavor in it. The roast beef was fresh and well cooked, with a great sauce to pair with it.
The homemade pasta definitely is a standout, and we will be back on our own!
