SEDILE DOMINOVA
Loggia with dome and archaic capitals in majolica where the urban administration was located in the Angevin period
Not far from the cathedral, it was the seat of the urban administration in the Angevin period. The 16th-century loggia, square in plan and open on two sides by an arcade, is typical of Sorrento for its dome and archaic capitals in majolica. The walls are painted with trompe-l'oeil architecture. It is a unique example in the region since all the "seats" in Naples have disappeared. Today, the building belongs to the municipality and is used for social activities and houses a meeting circle for workers.
