Within the Montemare Hotel, superb panoramic setting on the terrace or in the dining room. A refined and pleasant atmosphere. Good cuisine with large specialities of fish and seafood. It is better to book for tables on the terrace.

The views are stunning just before sunset. The food was also tasty and it was a calm and cool vibe here.

We wandered in here on a whim our very first night in Positano, and our only regret was that we didn't make it back again before we left! The best mozzarella I've ever had, plus amazing pasta and the freshest, most delicious aperitif. The views are stunning, and the atmosphere is cool and modern. Just make sure to call ahead and check on their schedule—they seem to host a lot of weddings, so they might not be open for dinner every night you're there.

Food presentation was very nice. Service was fine. Food quality was just not very good. My filet mignon was far too tough, did not taste fresh, and was undercooked as I requested medium. $40 filet was like an undercooked $20 sirloin. My wife’s eggplant parmigiana ended up being a very small eggplant tortellini and was undercooked as well. Water was $6/bottle. Cover charge of $4/person. Paying a premium for a view. Food wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. Walk up the hill to Luna for epic view fine dining experience. After 11 days in Italy this ended up being both the most expensive dinner we had and the most disappointing. 2 stars for the view.

Murray location with amazing views. My comments are in comparison to what we have had over the last week in Positano. The service at Il Capitano was average (slow), food and wine was overpriced. We have eaten at some amazing restaurants in Positano and unfortunately I would not recommend this one.

The food was really good, but the staff and owner are terrible. They have their rich rich favourite people who they put in the best places and give them extra attention. About the rest they just don’t care.
