VALLE DEI MULINI
Valley with ruins of old paper mills, the main activity was based on the paper industry
From the Museo della Carta, a path leads to the ruins of ancient paper mills that line the course of the Canneto. A bucolic stroll to the sound of the river that pours down forming waterfalls. The paper industry was the main activity of the town until recently. The Italian towns of Amalfi and Fabriano are competing for the primacy of the adoption of this technique in Europe, which came from the Arabs. The final blow to the Amalfi industry came in 1954 when a flood devastated the paper mills still in operation.
