The Ursuline sisters settled in Trnava in 1724. After acquiring their own land in 1728, they began foundation work the following year and the building was erected between 1729 and 1776. The Church of the Ursulines was built in a late Baroque style and is the youngest of the churches in the historic centre of the town of Trnava. Its main altar of 1789 is decorated with a beautiful painting of St. Anne with the Virgin Mary.
