Built in 1695 on the central square of Trnava, it bears the embossed coats of arms of the city, Hungary and Bishop Stefan Dolny. The statue of the Holy Trinity at the top of the column was destroyed by communist rule in 1949. According to the official version, it was dismantled because of its poor condition. After the revolution of November 1989, it was rebuilt by popular demand and now faces the Basilica of St. Nicholas.
