This gallery has been located in one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in the city since 1969. It exhibits works by Slovak artists of the modern period. The largest part of the collection consists of the work of Bazosky, a major Slovak painter of the 20th century who spent the last years of his troubled life in Trenčín (1962-1968). This gallery has had a policy of acquiring Slovak works since the Second World War.
