Listed as a cultural monument in the Slovak Republic, the Nitra Synagogue is a rare architectural monument in the city. Built in 1911 according to Leopold Baumhorn's design, in a Moorish-Byzantine style, it is no longer active today, as the Jewish community of Nitra was almost entirely exterminated during the Second World War. The building now belongs to the city of Nitra, which has been using it as a cultural space for more than a decade. It is mainly used as a concert and exhibition hall.
