In the historic neo-Renaissance building of the 19th century Nitra City Hall, this museum presents a delirious exhibition of eccentric bric-a-brac: stuffed animals, herbariums, porcelain and other curiosities.
There are more than 2,200 objects that bear witness to man's creative activity since the earliest times. The local masterpiece remains the Venus of Moravany, carved in a mammoth tusk, one of the oldest objects in Slovakia.

The most important part of the museum is Venus de Moravany, goddess sculpted in bones mammoth found during the excavations. The museum is on the first floor of a municipal building and it is an employee who accompanies us and rooms one by one to us: stuffed animals, porcelain, the objects found during excavations, and finally in one of the last rooms... famous Venus protected in its window: it is one of the oldest object of Slovakia.
