Every year, Banská Štiavnica pays tribute to its mining past. Concerts, children's events, craft stands...
It is by following a salamander that rushes into a hole that the mines were discovered... Every year, during 3 days, the city pays tribute to its mining past. On Friday evening the salamander procession takes place followed by goblins, supposedly living in the mines. This is followed by various concerts of all kinds, events for children (theatres, hawks, animation programmes, swordsmen, etc.), exhibitions and traditional craft stands.
